DB inspector killed in firing

Online Blog: Police Inspector of Detective Branch (DB) was killed in an attack by the insurgent terrorists during the rescue operation. This incident took place at around three-storey house near Alim Uddin School in Mirpur, Mirpur.
Mirpur Regional Deputy Commissioner Masud Ahmed said, on Monday around 12pm, the police raided a house in Pir Habiganj area to rescue the lost arms of DB West Senior Assistant Commissioner Shahadat Hossain and his team. During the operation, terrorists attacked them and found the police presence. At the time, one of the terrorists was shot in the head of the DB police inspector Jalal Uddin Jahangir (42) of Mirpur area. He was admitted to the Square Hospital in the critical condition and died at 2:00 pm.
DB West Senior Assistant Commissioner Shahadat Hossain said that two sergeants of the government lost their government arms a few months ago from Pir Bagbag area. The weapons were stolen by some of the identified terrorists in this area and he and his team raided the rescue to get the news that they are staying in a house here today. After reaching there, the terrorists first fired. Later, police fired on them. At the time of the shooting of the head of Jalal Uddin.
Shahadat Hossain also said, at one point the terrorists fled to throw a bullet. However, some relatives of the terrorists have been detained from the house with women.
Meanwhile, on receiving the news of the shootings, the Inspector of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Aashaduzzaman Mia and some senior police officials visited the spot. Asaduzzaman Mia said, "The operation is going on. The search was carried out in the surrounding houses including those buses. When the operation ends, we can say who were the terrorists. '
